Every fairytale deserves a happy ending...

Magical pictures deserve magical layouts don't you think?  Sometimes everything falls into place and you get some great shots. Soon the weather will change here (like tommorow - we will get lots of snow) and it will get harder to get candid shots.

This is a layout I did for Best Creation a while back but I forgot to post. I am working on some brand new stuff for CHA but of course I can't post that yet! I can tell you that on November 29 Best Creation will be doing a blog hop so make sure you keep a look out - there will be prizes!

Every Princess has a story and when you open up the castle you will find the journal inside...
I used the castle acrylic mini album from ClearScraps.com as a template! And of course lots of Shimmerz!

I really had fun drawing and then making this layout come to life. I don't always do that but when I saw all the gorgeous glitter paper I knew I had to go for it! The rainbow, the frog and the clouds were drawn and cut out by me.

Supplies: All papers are from Best Creations (including the glitter paper!), lace ribbon Spare Parts, gold ribbon Offray, Flower gems KaiserCraft, Pearls ZVA Creative, Mist – Shimmerz, Gold foil stickers Craft n’ Crafting, Grunge board brackets & crown Tim Holtz- Ranger, brads Spare Parts, Adhesive Glue Dots ®, Alphas Prima & American Crafts
I am grateful for the family that we have been blessed with.
I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving, thank you for you many kind words of encouragement and for your firendship. I am very blessed.

What quick and easy gifts have you made?

Today I am thankful...

Today I am thankful for family and the relationships we have with each other. On the right you can see that I am making a 30 day list of things I am thankful for. I think we get so caught up in the everyday stuff of our lives that we forget to be thankful for all the little things in our lives. I heard a song recently that said if God did nothing more for the rest of our lives, I would still serve Him because the past things He has done would be more than enough to praise Him. (I'm sure it was more eloquent than this but you get the idea!)

This is a layout I made for a sample at ScrapGal. The contest this month is "All about others".
Supplies: Pattern Paper, stencil and large flower - Prima. Ribbon and small flowers May Road. Other - Paint

"November's All About Others Challenges"

1. Being thankful - make a lo and show us who/what you are thankful/grateful for! Don't forget to show us your journaling!DONE!

2. Make something for someone else - just because. Show us your creativity creating a card or altered item. Take a picture showing us what you made and tell us about it.

Done! But I can't show them yet!

3. Pass it on - do something for someone else- don't let them know it was you. Be creative! Pay for someones meal behind you in line at the drive thru, leave a flower on someones doorstep (make sure they are not home) you get the idea. Don't forget to take a picture so you can scrap about it! If you can't take a picture make you layout  anyways and journal about what you did! Show us your lo!

Working on this!
4. Leave some love in the gallery - we have so many beautiful creations in there and we all know we love a little recognition! (I always do this anyways!)So every time you leave a little love you will get another entry to win!

This contest will run from Nov 1- Nov 30th,  the winner being announced on Dec 1.

Peaceful JOY

Joyful Peace...isn't that a beautiful name for papers? This is a new line from GCD Studios. Can you see the delicate designs on the paper? The old style calligraphy - Christmas words, love it! In addition to the designs I added a little Shimmerz- couldn't resist it matched so well!

With this being a Christmas line I was thinking about unwrapping presents and the excitement that comes with Christmas - and I thought how fun would be to make it look like a present being unwrapped - hence the ripped paper around the photo! I started the ripping and then placed the photo behind the hole so I would know how much more I needed to rip.

Here is the entire LO...

This is a scraplift from my friend Patti West.
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh and today I am a guest blogger at Vicki Chrismans blog!

Overwhelmed?

I don't always keep up with my emails but sometimes I read an email exactly when I was suppossed to. Today I read this in my inbox from Dayspring.com/ (check out their blog.)

When you feel overwhelmed...

Doorknob photo by andycoan (flickr creative commons) Demands knock on my door.
Burdens beckon me to answer.
The to-do list stretches for miles.
I whisper, "I feel overwhelmed."
And in the stillness it seems I hear...
"Child, open your heart to Me instead of the demands of the day.
Lay those burdens at My feet, not on your shoulders.
Let go of your list and dare to embrace My grace.
I do not require you to be overwhelmed.
I enable you to overcome.
And with Me, you always will."
I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Dare to dream

Today I am showing you something I hardly ever use- stamps! These are the new  stamps from Ta Da's Bountiful Blooms collection!
They are so gorgeous I knew I had to create something that would really make them stand out!
Of course you can never go wrong with the beautiful laser cuts by Ta Da Creative Studios!
"Don't forget to dream" by Rita Barakat

Supplies: Faber Castell Color Gelatos, Aquarelle Water Color Pencils, Pitt Artist Big Brush Pens, Butterfly Stamp(Recollections) White & Green Cardstock (Bazzill),Rub On's (Fancy Pants), embossing ink and powder in black) Q tip, waterproof ink, Awl
*Ta Da Creative Studios die cut paper "Them Stems"
*Ta Da Creative Studios "It's a beautiful thing" and leaves stamps,
 Botanical Blooms Stamp Set

Don't you just love the new collection? Just fabulous!!!

And I got some new art tools so I had to try them out!!!
Here's what I did!

Butterfly on the top left hand corner
was made by embossing and stamping a peice of paper with the butterfly stamp. Coloring it in with the Gelatos and rubbing it in with my finger until the colors blended together. I wiped off any excess off of the black. Cut it out.

Butterfly on the right
was made just like the one above but instead of rubbing the color I scrapped off the top layer, misted it with water and cut it out.

Butterfly below
was made by stamping the image with waterproof ink and coloring in the image with the watercolor pencils. I misted the image and blended the colors with a Qtip.

I used the Big Brush Artist pens in blue and green to color the vines, phrase and floral stamp. I stamped the page. I cut the die cut paper into strips and placed them as in the picture. One of the strips I put through a crimper. I used an awl to scrape the photo and adhered it to the page. I placed the rub on directly on the page.

Moments to remember...

One of the things I have to start doing this time of year is mini albums for friends and family that live out of state. (Whom I am also very thankful for!) This fancy pants mixed media is an add on from Citrus Tree Studio using this months kit. I am really loving this line from Echo Park!
Here I use a little paint...
Here I used these brand new water color pencils from Faber-Castell!
I cut out the little houses from the Echo Park paper.

Here I used a border punch, lots of layers and a rub on from Basic Grey.
I have never loved felt until now. I love the rich color in the background and in the flowers!
I still need to go and write a little journaling...
Hmm who will I send this to???

An ER story
So today I get a phone call today from the nurse at baby girls school.
The nurse tells me baby girl has a cut on her head, that she got it in the bathroom
on the paper towel dispenser. I ask how she is - she says she's fine that she just needs
a change of clothes. Then she says, well maybe you should take her home to clean her up a bit...
I get there and she is a mess, covered in blood. We talk for a minute and she says maybe you should take her to the doctor, maybe she need stitches or at least glue. So I take her to urgent care and after TWO HOURS of checking vitals and various people checking her head, her eyes and asking questions- the same questions over and over. By the time the doctor came and started asking the same questions baby girl just stared at her.
No response.
 Just staring her down!
The doc looks at me as if to ask if she's alright when baby girl says to her in a monotone voice.
"I already answered these questions to everybody who keeps coming in here!
Can I go home now?"
She was so annoyed, I couldn't help but laugh. The doc laughed too.

Anyways she is alright, we just have to watch her. And of course she has a headache.
The wound is under her hair and not enough to need stitches, we just have to be careful.
I hope tomorrow is an uneventful day!
